Report on the NLA’s Merit Awards Gala

Posted by : Eunice Adeleke

Each year, the NLA hosts the Merit Awards Gala to celebrate the achievements of distinguished individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the legal profession and towards the advancement of public and community service, and to give out scholarships to law students of color from across the country, based on need and merit.

This year’s Merit Awards Gala was held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 7:00 PM, at the 630 Second Ballroom, located at 630 Second Avenue, New York, NY 10016. On this night, the ballroom was filled with dignitaries, politicians and professionals who joined us in celebrating the NLA’s achievements and honoring our awardees. The night featured live entertainment from Trybe Dancers, authentic Nigerian cuisine, and an awards presentation in honor of our highly esteemed professionals.
