Lydia Obasi-Hills is a Transactional Attorney for the Queens Borough Public Library, Office of the General Counsel. Her work is primarily centered around drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of contracts and agreements. Ms. Obasi-Hills is also the owner of The Hills Firm, a general practice law firm located in the heart of Manhattan. The practice areas of her firm include Immigration, Family Law, Civil Litigation, Small business Services and Entertainment Law.
While in law school, Ms. Obasi-Hills wore several hats, as she served as a member of the Fordham University Journal of Corporate and Financial Law. She also served as a mentor in the Law School’s Minority Mentorship Program and volunteered as a student lawyer for the Domestic Violence Advocacy Committee, assisting victims of domestic violence with obtaining a divorce and immigration protection. In addition, she served as a member of Universal Jurisdiction, during which time she volunteered to provide human rights training and advocacy to law enforcement personnel and prisoners in Jamaica.
Lydia Obasi-Hills is also known to be both a philanthropist and an entrepreneur. Lending her hands to several international and local causes, she is the proud owner of Pure Breed Ink, a Nigerian-inspired apparel company centered on encouraging national pride amongst Nigerians throughout the diaspora, and Chief Executive Officer of Kemara Entertainment, Inc., a music company providing an array of services and representation for Nigerian artists, musicians, disc jockeys and home grown talent from Crown Heights to Lagos. In addition to her membership in the Nigerian Lawyers Association, she is also a member of the Brooklyn Bar Association and BWEL (Black Women in Entertainment Law).
